James 5:13-15 “Are you hurting? Pray. Do you feel great? Sing. Are you sick? Call the church leaders together to pray and anoint you with oil in the name of the Master. Believing-prayer will heal you, and Jesus will put you on your feet. And if you’ve sinned, you’ll be forgiven—healed inside and out.”
I LOVE THIS! Sis, the Bible is so good! God is so good! Walking with Jesus just keeps on getting better. Sometimes, the longer we know someone, the less we seek to know them. We get complacent or our interest begins to dissipate, and we fail to do the things we did in the beginning to discover and develop relationship. This is our friendly reminder to continue doing what we did when we first met Jesus. Talk to Him when you are hurting. Sing and rejoice when you feel good! If you’re sick, call the church and ask them to lay hands on you! Oh, and when you pray, BELIEVE! God will get you all the way right! If you’ve sinned, He still forgives! Let Him heal you inside and outside. I know that God knows sis, but we still have to do our part. Yes, He knows before we tell Him, but that doesn’t mean we keep it inside. Think about the man with the withered hand, before God healed Him, he asked him to stretch it out – OUTSIDE healing. Or the woman with the issue of blood, when she touched Him (action on her behalf) He made her whole – INSIDE healing. I don’t just think He made the bleeding stop, he made her WHOLE. Her mind was made whole, her will was made whole, and her emotions were made whole. What are you living with that you don’t have to be? Whatever it is, Jesus wants to make you whole. Go to Him, do it now. Reacquaint yourself with His miracle power. You have not, because you ask not. Ask and it will be given, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened.
Consecration: Apathy
Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today. Better yet, don’t put off for tomorrow what God wants to do today. I know that modern Christianity, dangles tomorrow out in front of us like a prize we might never achieve but should hope for. I say, forget that. God has never not been moved by faith in action. Apathy keeps you just ok. Comfortable in your brokenness, wearing a spirit of heaviness when you have a perfectly tailored garment of praise fashioned just for you! Monogrammed with your initials sis. Shake off the spirit of apathy and do it now!
