James 5:10-12Take the old prophets as your mentors. They put up with anything, went through everything, and never once quit, all the time honoring God. What a gift life is to those who stay the course! You’ve heard, of course, of Job’s staying power, and you know how God brought it all together for him at the end. That’s because God cares, cares right down to the last detail.  And since you know that he cares, let your language show it. Don’t add words like “I swear to God” to your own words. Don’t show your impatience by concocting oaths to hurry up God. Just say yes or no. Just say what is true. That way, your language can’t be used against you.”

Sis, STAY THE COURSE!  That’s three very powerful words!  Let them resonate in your spirit today.  We are living in hard times and I think we are all feeling the effects of it.  But when we consider Job, how bad is it really?  Here’s what we cannot lose sight of, regardless of Covid-19, isolation, and quarantine, is that GOD CARES!  He cares right down to every detail.  Whatever you are walking through today, hit the refresh button on your internal safari and continue to remind yourself that He cares.  He sees, He feels, He knows.  I read an incredible book a couple of years ago that I am going to link for you here.  It’s called “Stay The Path”, by Bobbie Houston.  It will bless and encourage you on your journey  should you choose to read it.  We should follow James encouragement at the top of this passage to take the Old Prophets as our mentors.  Study their lives and how they put up with anything, went through everything, and never once quit, honoring God the WHOLE time. Oh, and of course James would put a “watch your mouth” to follow it up.  😜

    Consecration:  Detours

I wonder how many detours we have taken on our journey.  It’s so much easier to get from point A to point B, if you know how to get there.  Directions are everything.  I never was great at reading a map, but I love me some Waze.  If you aren’t familiar with waze, download it NOW.  For real, it’s the best navigation app ever.  We have a spiritual waze, it’s called the B-I-B-L-E, BIBLE!  But we don’t just get direction by osmosis, we have to read it, study it, hide it in our hearts so that we don’t end up taking 2 hours to arrive at a destination that should have taken 25 minutes.  Today, read your spiritual map, chart your course, and consecrate the detours.
