From time to time i will post some music clips, some original and some covers.  This is a very raw, stripped down, un-produced voice memo from my devotion time.  It is one of my favorites from Brian & Katie Torwalt’s new album Champion.  This song has become my personal declaration over my life and everything it encompasses.

 

I am a light fanatic. My favorite part of the day is watching the sunrise. This morning was no exception.

The beauty that God paints on the canvas of the sky is breathtaking. I love the way that darkness responds to light. It’s immediate. Darkness is and then in an instant it is no more.  At 299,792,458 metres per second the speed of light is one of the fastest known and where we derive the international standard for time.  In the beginning God said “Let there be light” and there was light.  Darkness’ response was immediate, just like that.

Darkness always has to give way to light.

One of my favorite things to do is go to concerts.  It amazes me how performers use light to tell a story.  Have you ever paid attention to how the lights change to set the mood of the arena before you may ever hear a note played or a melody sang?

In a grand arena, darkness only prepares you for the light that is to come.

God has been speaking to my heart that the world is about to witness the most insane light show.  We are (l)it – God’s chosen, His remnant. Darkness is setting the stage for the most intricately designed light show any eye has ever seen.  In Haggai 2:9 The Bible says that the “glory of the latter house will be greater than its former”.  I don’t know about you, but i am ready!

I have began declaring light into every area of my life. To the secret places that are dark. The enemy is the “Prince of Darkness”, as long as we keep things hidden or in the dark, Satan traffics those areas. It is when we declare the truth of God to shine that we stop protecting the identity of the enemy. God is preparing a people. He is calling us to be LIGHT.  I want to my very existence to rival the darkness!

Matthew 5:14-16 in the Message Bible Declares “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world.  God is not a secret to be kept.  We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill.  If i make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you?  I’m putting you on a light stand.  Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand – SHINE!”
