I am a sucker for harmony. I would rather sing it than the melody line. It comes natural to me…In life though, it’s just not that simple sometimes. We live in a world where we are encouraged to be different, but never really to understand or appreciate those who are. This has posed some very interesting times in my “human growth chart”.
My husband and I have this saying, “I may not always understand, but I will do my best to be understanding.”
The melody line is always the most clear and precise to the ear, but when harmony is added, it doesn’t diminish the beauty of the melody. Don’t get unison and unity confused. It doesn’t have to look the same, or sound the same, to be of the same origin. My kids are helping me learn this every day. He is the vine, we are the branches. It’s rare to ever see identical branches on any tree, but they are no less a part of the tree…why? Because he is the master creator and he purposed it that way.
